OSI 11 - Tribeca Blue 22

GLASTONBURY

Nostalgia is over-rated. Who wants to go back to the good old days when the good old days meant giving up 22 runs and losing? Suffice it to say that TeamOSI did not like this reminder of the way things used to be. And by the time they rallied for an 8 run fifth inning, they were already behind 15 to 2. Tribeca Blue then scored 7 runs in answer to TeamOSI's 8 to put the game out of reach at 22 to 10.

What's that smell? It's not nostalgia. It's not the good old days. It's just something old that's gone bad.

But there were some moments. Mark "Bash Brothers" Starybrat hit the team's first home run of the season, a long, deep drive to left. And a home run was needed, otherwise John "Ass Over Elbows" Jeffrey may not have been able to score from second. John had lead off the inning with his own long drive to left that looked as if maybe he had just hit the team's first home run but--

What's that at second base? It looks like a crumpled body in a cloud of dust. Rounding the bases, it seems that parts of John's body were running faster than other parts and soon he was rolling and sliding like an drunken Olympic tumbler. When it was over, he lay face up staring through the dust at a spinning sky. Luckly he had rolled all the way onto second base.

Score it a double.

Also having good games, Mike Goldman went 3 for 3, and Vin Musumeci and Tom Tartaro had 2 hits each.

But that's enough nostalgia, thank you. It stinks.
